VAKUEN Sells Out Entire First-Half Inventory in Just Two Months
MAKERVILLE, the developer and distributor of VAKUEN led by CEO Byungjun Jung, announced on the 14th that the entire inventory originally planned for sale during the first half of the year had sold out within just two months.
VAKUEN recently gained attention after Super Junior's Kyuhyun featured the product on MBC's popular variety show I Live Alone, where he was shown organizing and storing various ingredients using VAKUEN containers.
Unlike conventional airtight containers that typically use four-sided locking mechanisms, VAKUEN is designed to create a vacuum inside the container, helping extend the storage life of its contents.
According to the company, VAKUEN has surpassed KRW 33 billion in cumulative sales over the four years since its launch, with more than 8 million units sold.
The brand began collaborations with companies including Shinsegae and CJ in 2023. In December, it also held the Time of VAKUEN exhibition at Shinsegae Department Store's Gangnam branch.
According to MAKERVILLE, all inventory prepared for the first half of the year has now been sold. The company stated that it does not plan to increase production volume or speed excessively in response to demand.
Instead, MAKERVILLE plans to further strengthen its quality control (QC) process while expanding the scope of customer feedback and Voice of Customer (VOC) requests reflected in future production.
“We will not rush to increase production speed, as our priority is to improve quality progressively,” said Byungwoo Song, Director at MAKERVILLE. “We plan to introduce additional production volume to customers in the middle of next month after fully incorporating customer feedback and VOC insights.”
Meanwhile, MAKERVILLE is preparing to reopen its official online store, VAKUEN Mall, in April, along with special events for existing loyal customers and promotional campaigns celebrating the store's renewal.
